It’s 7 in the morning, the sun is just starting to rise and I’m taking a walk outside our neighborhood to get in shape. At first I couldn’t get much further than the 15 minutes it takes to walk through our neighborhood but I’ve gotten to the point where an hour of walking is easy. My energy levels are better than they were before the surgery and is relatively stable. Because I can now walk further than before, I get to see more of nature in our area. It’s really awesome to be able to see the rice fields growing from little tiny plants into full grown rice plants. Some days the rice fields are flooded because the farmer opened his little dam and the next its dry because the rice only needs sun at that time and the farmer has closed the dam. It starts off with a beautifully plowed field followed by little blades of grass peaking out through the dirt. It then continues to grow and turns into a beautiful field of light green that almost looks like grass and then later the color turns a deep green and when it is finally time to harvest it is almost a gold yellow color. I hope these fields will remain rice fields and not be turned into building development plots because so many rice fields in our area have already disappeared to make space for more buildings.
